▸Steps that need a Cracked and Broken Tread Repair Kit

Pool stair treads can fail for a variety of reasons. Many models of pool stairs have a support system built into the bottom of the tread which can separate over time which leaves an unsupported step which soon fails. Soil compaction and erosion can also occur leaving the tread poorly supported and likely to fail. The tread failure does not need to be dramatic in order for leaks to result. Once a pool step has weakened, it can flex while being walked on, which allows a leak, which causes erosion, which hastens the process.

▸Steps that need a Complete Refurbish Kit

If your pool steps are in need of repair in several different areas, it can be difficult to blend the repaired areas invisibly. Our Complete Refurbish DIY Repair kit will allow you to perform a complete refurbishment of your stairs to hide the repairs and provide the “as new” look. Once the cosmetic and structural repairs have been made to your steps, you will apply our StepGel finishing compound to your entire pool step.

StepGel is our proprietary coating, which is specially designed to bond to the original manufactured pool stair material. StepGel is a tough, durable coating which brings your pool stairs back to new.

If you only have issues with a single tread or crazing, we recommend just repairing and coating that particular pool step or area.

Our StepGel coating has the best durability away from the waterline and on a horizontal surface. StepGel is a very tough and durable coating that should last approximately 10 seasons even on vertical step sections at the waterline, but the longevity can be extended by only applying StepGel to necessary areas.

▸Steps that need a Ice/Frost Damage Repair Kit and/or Jet Delete

Frost or Ice damage to your pool step is fairly common and is usually quite obvious. It will occur at the winter water line, which is usually down below the jets. We are able to repair Frost damage nearly invisibly and to almost the original strength of the pool step. Jets that are built into your pool step can often fail overtime and older jets maybe impossible to replace without extensive concrete work or pool stair replacement. Our Pool Step Specialists have utilized our Frost Damage repair techniques to enable jet deletions for a fraction of the cost.

▸Steps that need a Crazing Repair Kit

Crazing Damage is the small lines or ‘spider’ cracks along the top flange of the pool step and possibly on the top step as well. Usually found on the upper horizontal surfaces of the pool stair, this is the result of prolonged UV exposure. Crazing will continue to worsen over time and can even result in portions of the outer layer flaking off in chunks.
